Dill Joins the RSPA: Building Compliance Into Retail Infrastructure

Dill joined the Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA) this month. For food operators, the short version is simple: the people who sell and service your back-of-house systems can now offer a labeling layer that plugs directly into your setup.

Dill automates food labeling across the whole operation — food-to-go and fresh prep, stock rotation, and retail shelf labelling — and captures the traceability data underneath it. Every label is logged: what was printed, when, and who printed it.

So instead of compliance living in someone's memory or a paper diary, you have a record you can stand behind in an audit.

As the primary trade association for the US retail technology industry, the RSPA connects point-of-sale (POS) resellers, independent software vendors (ISVs), and service providers. Dill was built to plug in — it sits on top of the POS or adjacent systems a customer already runs. Joining the RSPA means resellers can bundle compliant labeling into what they already sell, rather than handing the customer one more thing to source and set up.

Labeling isn't a cosmetic feature to bolt on at the end; it's foundational infrastructure that sits underneath how a modern kitchen or retail store runs. And the regulatory pressure is only going one way — merchants increasingly have to prove traceability, not just claim it.

Operators are facing two separate compliance clocks — New York's allergen disclosure law (A6558/S5381) in November 2026, and the FDA's FSMA 204 traceability deadline in July 2028. Dill handles both from the same system.

We'll be at RetailNOW with Brother, booth 1005. We're looking for resellers and ISVs who want to offer compliant labeling without building it themselves — data flows in from the systems operators already run, and deployment is plug-and-play, no technicians on site.

"We're glad to be joining the RSPA, and to be at RetailNOW with Brother USA at Caesars Forum. Come find us at the Brother booth #1005, to see labels designed, printed, and tracked — fully plug and play. It takes the manual work out of labeling and makes compliance close to invisible for operators. What the RSPA really changes for us is the barrier to integrating: it puts us alongside the adjacent systems operators already run, so plugging in is the easy part." — Alex Coldea, CEO, Dill

“We’re thrilled to have Dill join the RSPA community and participate at RetailNOW. Our goal is to expand our community with more high-initiative, growth-oriented solution providers who can help each other serve merchant customers better. Dill certainly fits the bill in that regard. We look forward to seeing the Dill team and 1,600 of our solution provider friends at RetailNOW 2026.” — Jim Roddy, President & CEO, RSPA
